Discover the technical features and functional advantages of CORTEX series DC bidirectional programmable power supply - an automatic source-load switching DC test bench with battery and solar panel emulation capability.
CORTEX is built on advanced power semiconductors and power electronics technologies. The architecture combines IGBT, SiC-MOSEFET, along with FPGA-based circuit and Digital Matrix Parallel control methods. From a 3U chassis where the maximum power rating offered is 30kW, test engineers can set up flexible in their test bench for laboratory testing applications thanks to the compact footprint and high-power density.
CORTEX DC combines regenerative programmable electronic load and high-precision programmable power source into one chassis. The bidirectional operation capability supplants the additional set of programmable electronic DC load for user cases where energy profile requires interaction of power flow while saving energy cost with 91% efficiency of regenerative recovery.
The auto-ranging and switching capability free test engineers from the conventional approach of setting operation mode in advance. The system conditions and regulates its operation automatically for voltage and current within its rated power and envelopes to fulfil maximum power output across various testing scenarios and uses cases dynamically and controlled.
With 100 units of 3U/30kW chassis in parallel connection through DMPS technology, CORTEX DC allows flexible modular power up-scaling into standard racks by IEC-60297 for reaching 3 MW as the maximum power rating. High speed fiber-optic interconnection eliminates the latency among parallelled units, above which a further advanced feature of redundancy will isolate unit in fault from the parallelled system for maintaining the load current and consistent operation without downtime.
The Cortex DC series supports not only the basic Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) modes but also integrates Constant Power (CP) and Constant Resistance (CR) modes. The versatile operation mode is the control foundation to the simulation of both simple electronic components and complex power system.
Either from the integrated interface or from a host computer, test engineers can set up automated testing automation sequence combining miscellaneous current and voltage profiles following steps, list, advanced and custom modes, with an ultra-high measurement accuracy of 0.02% and an ultra-fast dynamic response as low as 500μs.
SAS mode is optionally provided within CORTEX through built-in photovoltaic simulation software that fully complies with mainstream international standard models such as EN 50530 and Sandia which are critical functions for PV inverter testing.
