TITAN Grid Simulator's operation covers all 4 quadrants of I-V Cartesian system with automatic source-load switching capability to emulate either an AC source as if a real power grid or as an AC load to receive current from the DUT. Scalable Design to Reach 10MVA through Parallel or Series Connection

DMPS technology of ActionPower strikes the balance between high-power and consistency of response and dynamics while scaling up with TITAN grid simulator. Users or test engineers may set multiple set of TITAN in parallel connection for reaching 10 MVA without compromising performance. For matching shifting test requirements and user cases, multi-output mode is available to split a single 10MVA platform in to flexible combination of several sub-platform, supposing 3MVA + 4MVA + 4MVA and with multi-voltages, multi-station operation capability, as an example.

User-Defined Comprehensive Control Independently for Each Voltage Phase

TITAN allows independent phase control functions to emulate phase unbalance and shifts covering until 359.9° phase angel range with 0.1° resolution. Each of the 3 AC phases can be configured individually. Application emulation scenarios including phase change, frequency change, voltage change, phase split, etc.


User-Defined Harmonics & Inter-Harmonics Injection

The TITAN Grid Simulator provides extensive harmonic and interharmonic simulation capabilities for testing power electronics under distorted grid conditions. Harmonic Injection The simulator supports harmonic order generation up to the 50th order at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz. It allows precise synthesis of harmonic components with the following specifications:

  • 2nd–10th order harmonics: single harmonic content ≤ 40%, total harmonic distortion (THD) ≤ 60%.
  • 10th–20th order harmonics: single harmonic content ≤ 20%, THD ≤ 20%.
  • 21st–30th order harmonics: single harmonic ≤ 10%, total harmonics ≤ 10%.
  • 31st–50th order harmonics: single harmonic ≤ 5%, total harmonics ≤ 10%.
The amplitude accuracy of each harmonic component is within ±5% of the set value. A waveform preview function is available for verifying the synthesized harmonic distortion profile prior to output. The system supports harmonic waveform editing, including import, export, read, and storage of customized harmonic profiles. Interharmonic Simulation For interharmonic testing, the TITAN simulator supports a frequency range of 1 Hz to 2500 Hz with individual content up to 10%. Users can program up to 100 steps, each defined by parameters such as content, start frequency, end frequency, frequency increment, and execution time. The interharmonic programming interface supports flexible operations including add, delete, import, export, store, and read, enabling users to recreate complex and time-varying interharmonic conditions for compliance or stress testing.

LVRT & HVRT / Low Voltage & High-Voltage Ride-Through Testing Application

Fast voltage and rise and fall time of 1ms together with the slew rate of 1V/μs, together with the phase control capability highlights TITAN Grid Simulator as the ideal AC source for conducting LVRT and HVRT testing applications in accordance to VDE-AR-N 4105 and other application standards against grid-tied DUTs.

User-Defined Waveform for Flicker Emulation

The TITAN Grid Simulator features built-in flicker simulation with ten selectable levels (1.0–10.0), a fine adjustment step of 1, and ±0.2 accuracy, enabling precise reproduction of voltage fluctuation effects. Engineers can preview flicker waveforms and visualize Pst trends in real time, facilitating verification and analysis. This function is widely used for evaluating the flicker emission and immunity of lighting equipment, inverters, and motor drives under dynamic grid conditions.
