TITAN Solar Array Simulator is an advanced testing platform that integrates high-fidelity full-condition I-V curve emulation, sub-millisecond ultra-fast dynamic response, highly efficient bidirectional energy regeneration, megawatt-scale lossless parallel reconfiguration, and versatile programmable DC power supply capabilities into a single solution.
TITAN Solar Array Simulator features built-in static and dynamic MPPT test curves that comply with Sandia, EN50530, and CGC/GF004 standards for approximating the real-world output characteristics of PV array under complex weather conditions. Various user-defined metrics through HMI interface support the reproduction of I-V curve, including:
More advanced features include the realistic partial shading (cloud cover or dirt accumulation) simulation capabilities, with a single curve boasting an ultra-high resolution of up to 4,096 points. Combined with an ultra-fast 100ms online curve switching capability, TITAN functions against inverters with the most rigorous PV input validation that closely mimics real-world physical environments.
Frequency matters for testing application against sudden and dynamic load variations. TITAN demonstrates excellent dynamic control loop performance that at rated current, both the 10% to 90% rise and fall times are controlled within 2ms, and under extreme load spans from +90% to -90%, the switching time is less than 4ms. The system features a high voltage slew rate of up to 300V/ms and a current slew rate of 500A/ms - which is a sub-millisecond transient response capability that aligns with the rapid change during dynamic MPPT tracking tests.
TITAN Solar Array Simulator is not simply a souce of power yet with comes with an advanced energy regeneration function to recover the load energy back to the AC grid with an efficiency exceeding 94% meanwhile maintains an ultra-high power factor of 0.99 under full-load conditions and strictly limits the input-side total harmonic current distortion (THDi) to below 3%. TITAN eliminates expensive cooling and heat dissipation costs, and achieves better utility-interaction between your test bench.
DMPS and fiber-optic technology allows test bench setup with TITAN Solar Array Simulator to scale up to 10 MW from a single unit of maximum voltage 2000 VDC and 1.0 MW power capability. The superior digital parallel current-sharing algorithm based on ActionPower's patented technology achieves the consistent dynamic response and testing accuracy after parallelling remain completely identical to a single unit.
Testing platform reconfiguration is available to split the 10MVA test platform into several sub master-slave systems for multiple output and multiple test station setup. The system is non-bound to your previous testing requirements and can be reconfigured to meet your evolving test applications.
Apart from PV emulation capability, TITAN SAS operates with standard operation modes as that of a programmable DC power supply supporting CV/CC/CP/CR setup, combined with advanced sequence execution through complex 1,000-step transient profiles (Step/List/Wave) with a 1ms dwell time resolution. Integrated internal resistance settings (-2Ω to +2Ω, 1mΩ resolution) reproduces ohmic line drops and battery polarization impedances for replicating the physical status of solar panels.
