The 4 Principle User-Defined Battery Operation Profile

A real battery features a non-linear VoC shifts following the change of SOC. Battery simulator supports replicating the cycling curves and features of different battery chemistry such as NCM/NCA, LFT, LTD with precision SoC-OCV emulation for validating EUT's reaction against different battery operation profiles.

Rapid load changes contribute to the dynamic overshoot and delayed recovery conditions of a real battery in operation due to complex polarization effects. Battery simulators hould executes complex Equivalent Circuit Models to perfectly replicate these millisecond-level transient voltage trajectories.

Advanced custom configurations empower users to set temperature degradation factors and ageing profiles, while setting extremely stringent charge/discharge voltage and current protection limits. It is the imperfect operation profile that a battery simulator is supposed to replicate, thereby stress-testing the protection mechanisms and safety responses of external systems (such as a BMS) to their absolute limits.

Real battery finds its resistance shifting during the operation due to changing SoC, temperature and dynamic C-rate. Battery simulators support user-defined mapping of internal resistance against SoC or temperature to replicate instantaneous voltage drop cased by the former.
